SUBJECT: Special Education Plan Trainings for Phase 2 Districts
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is responsible for ensuring that all special education programs in schools are appropriate and effective. To do this, school districts
must submit a Special Education Plan every three years to PDE as required under 22 PA Code 14.104.
The school district’s Special Education Plan focuses on plans generated from compliance monitoring, professional development activities, and training necessary to provide appropriate
programs to students with disabilities. School districts will submit their plans by May 1, 2016, via the Comprehensive Planning Web Application. Training regarding the Comprehensive Planning Web Application will be a critical component of the Special Education
Plan submission.
Special Education Plan training for Phase 2 school districts will be held on the following dates at the three Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) locations.
Pittsburgh Nov. 6, 2015 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Harrisburg Nov. 12, 2015 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
King of Prussia Nov. 13, 2015 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Act 48 hours will be offered for these trainings. Please register online at
http://www.pattan.net. If you experience difficulties with registration, please contact your local PaTTAN office. Registration is required for all sessions. A list of Phase 2 school districts grouped by intermediate unit
is included at the end of this Penn*Link.
