________________________________ This email is intended for all Comprehensive Planning LEAs ________________________________ Greetings, The PA Planning Team would like to inform you of the upcoming training for all LEAs (all Comprehensive Planning Phases). We would like to encourage you to attend the Comprehensive Planning face-to-face session nearest you to hear updates made to the Comprehensive Planning tool, new requirements for the plan and to receive individual support/help, if needed. With the 1-year extension granted for ALL LEAs (per Act 118), the trainings this summer will be conducted differently than in the past. Please read below for more information to decide which training will best meet your needs. All face-to-face locations listed below will have a morning and afternoon session. The morning session will run from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Sign-in starting at 8:30 am). The morning session will be dedicated to any folks new to Comprehensive Planning or those looking for a refresher on the requirements and/or use of the tool. The afternoon session will run from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Sign-in starting at 12:30 pm). The afternoon session will be dedicated to those folks already familiar with the process of Comprehensive Planning and looking for more specifics on new requirements, best practices for data and systems analysis, best practices for action planning, time dedicated to working with their planning team and/or individual support with members of the PA Planning Team. We will spend part of the afternoon session reviewing any new requirements and best practices, but the majority of the session will be spent providing users with time to delve further into the plan for evaluation and revision purposes. Participants are encouraged to attend the morning session, the afternoon session or both. Please bring your laptop to the session as all "handouts" will be electronically dispersed and we will be using the time to log into your LEA Comprehensive Plan. Phase 2 Virtual Session Since Phase 2 submission was pushed back until November 30, 2017, the PA Planning Team will be holding 2 virtual sessions this summer to review the new timelines of your plan and to review the final steps prior to submitting your plan via the web application. Both sessions will be identical, so please feel free to attend the one that best fits your schedule. We will also record these sessions in the event you are unable to attend either date.
